What did everyone make of Peter Capald's debut as the Doctor?

Personally I wasn't a fan, Peter didn't use the episode well to establish himself in the role, to me he felt too much like he was acting like Matt Smith, with less of the body language. But what did everyone else think?

I thought he was okay for a first episode. Main problem was that they seemed to be trying to convince the audience to accept Capaldi, by having the Doctor convince Clara to accept him. They seemed to think that Americans would have trouble with an older Doctor. Never mind that more Americans liked Tom Baker than Peter Davison...
