Hollyoaks is the most watched teen drama series in the UK. It is set in Chester in the fictional borough of Hollyoaks.

The first episode was broadcast on 23rd October 1995. The show attracts an average of 3 million viewers per week. he series was devised by Phil Redmond, who also created Grange Hill and Brookside. A second weekly episode began in 1996, a third followed in 1999, and a fourth was added in 2001. The series went five nights a week in November 2003.

The show covers a wide range of topics, from teen pregnancy, to serial killers.
