NAACP Image Awards

Beginning in 1969 (and airing nationally beginning in 1974), the NAACP Image Awards are presented to outstanding people of color and others who promote social justice in the fields of film, television, music, and literature. There are also several honorary categories, including Entertainer of the Year.
