After receiving a distress call from another timeship stranded in space, Rip decides to answer the call in order to use the other ship's computer to track Savage. The team is suspicious and warns him this could be a trap but he moves forward with his plan. Ultimately, the team was right and they have to battle time pirates. With most of the team captured, it is up to Professor Stein to rescue them all.

Waverider is stranded in the Star City of 2046 in an alternate timeline. The city is in ruins after Green Arrow and most of his team have fallen. While they acquire the parts they need to repair the timeship, the team meets the new Green Arrow... and the man who disposed of his predecessor.

1x5: Fail-Safe recap: At STAR Labs, Martin is talking with Cisco and says that he's discovered the exact formula for the thermocore needed to build a new Firestorm. Cisco says that the Firestorm matrix is unstable, and Martin points out that Harrison developed the quantum splicer to render it stable. He tells Cisco that he's happy to see him taking an interest in his work, and is surprised when Cisco calls him "sir." Martin realizes that Cisco is neat and well-dressed, and that "Cisco" is an imposter.
