I really enjoyed the season starter of Gold Rush: Alaska. While I wish all the men heading out the very best I do hope that it doesn't spark too much of a "Rush" since there is a high probability of disaster on many levels and a very slim chance of actually striking it rich.
The guys seem well organized and prepped with equipment even if some are greenhorns at the workings of it.
However a less well prepped indivitual or group of people might bargan everything to lose everything if they think there is easy money to be made in prospecting.
I personally I'm a woman who has been summer prospecting in Central BC most of my life and if I scraped together all the gold I have found I couldn't even buy a cup of coffee.
For the person on a shoestring budget without access to heavy equipment or a claim that they are approved to use it on I recomend staying home unless you love digging ditches. Because it is a lot of hard physical work.
I don't want to blow anyone's dream out of the water but just hope this series doesn't paint prospecting with rose colored glasses because it is not close to easy.
I do know that I will be watching each week to see if it is golden dreams or bust for the guys of Gold Rush Alaska.
Best of luck guys.
