10 Reasons Jim Halpert from ‘The Office’ is Marriage Material

Were you a huge fan of ‘The Office’? I sure was, but, admittedly, I didn’t fall in love with the show when it first premiered. A "short" seven years later after it aired, I decided to give it a shot and started watching it online from the beginning. Immediately, I was hooked and fell in love with the characters. But, there was one particular character that pulled my heartstrings right from the beginning - that was Jim Halpert.

Played by the amazingly talented and adorable John Krasinski, Jim had so many loveable qualities, how could you not want someone like that in your life? Pam (Jenna Fischer) was so lucky! He possessed every quality I look for in a guy. Basically, Jim is the perfect man. Before anyone calls me out on it - yes, I know Jim had his flaws and no one can be 100 percent perfect, but his character encompassed some of the the best qualities a girl could ask for. In honor of this flawless TV man, here are 10 reasons I find Jim Halpert to be marriage material - and someone who mom and dad would welcome home with open arms.

1. Most Adorable

Let’s take a moment to just stare at that adorable face. Does it get any cuter than that? He wasn’t your typical hottie of the office aka his ego was as small as it comes. As one of the most adorable men on the planet, all Jim had to do was shoot a winning smile and I would just melt.

2. Best. Personality. Ever.

Men take note: personality is a huge bonus. If you’re looking to improve that sense of humor, you can learn from Jim, who was the best prankster ever. From teasing Michael (Steve Carell) to torturing Dwight (Rainn Wilson) to joining prank forces with Pam, Jim’s personality made him that much more attractive.

3. Athletic, but Not a Jock

He might not have been great at soccer, especially when playing against Charles Miner (Idris Elba), but he sure could strut his stuff on the basketball and volleyball court. The best part about Jim’s athleticism? He liked to play sports, but wasn’t a total jock. More bonus points!

4. Thinks Outside of the Box

So, he’s not really artsy in the sense of an actual artist, but he is quite creative. Office Olympics anyone? A guy who can come up with creative ways to get out of doing work is pretty dang creative. Combine his creativeness with Pam’s art and you get one creative couple.

5. Let’s Talk about Romance

Everyone needs a little romance their life, and Jim’s romance for Pam went above and beyond anything I’ve ever seen. From proclaiming his love for Pam to his proposal to the wedding, anyone would kill for that type of love in their life. I know I would.

6. Faithfulness

Jim would have never dreamed of straying from Pam; after all she was his soulmate. Remember that time Cathy (Lindsey Broad) came onto Jim in Florida? She hatched a plan to seduce Jim and steal him away from Pam. Well, no one can come between Jam, especially with Jim’s faithfulness!

7. R-E-S-P-E-C-T...ful

It was very rare for Jim to show little respect - and most of all to Pam. Despite their troubles and fallout near the series end, Jim still showed the utmost admiration and appreciation for his wife. He even gave up his dream job to be closer to Pam and his kids.

8. He Goes after His Dreams

For years, he worked as a Dunder Mifflin salesman, before finally going after his dreams at Athleap (formerly Athlead) in Philadelphia, a sports marketing company. The job definitely created a rocky road for the Halperts, but all ended well. Who wouldn’t want an ambitious man?

9. A Family Man

I have never seen a cuter reaction to finding out that you’re having a baby. Jim and Pam both experienced a happy surprise in the Season 5 finale - they were pregnant! That smile and those tears Jim expressed were so sweet. He was a great dad to Cece and Philip.

10. Supportive, Supportive, Supportive

Did I say supportive? Just like he went after his dreams, Jim always made sure Pam went after hers. Unlike Pam’s ex-fiance Roy (David Denman), Jim wanted Pam to pursue her art career and encouraged her to study in New York City. Not to mention, Jim surprised Pam with a house and even turned the garage into an art studio! How sweet is that?

Mix all of these qualities and what do you get? The perfect guy aka Jim Halpert. No wonder John Krasinski is adored by all.
