Primetime Ratings, Tuesday, 1/7/14

 

 

CBS dominated a packed field of shows returning from their winter hibernation periods.

'NCIS' rose slightly to a 3.0, easily topping the night in the 18-49 demo. The series premiere of Josh Holloway fronted drama 'Intelligence' pulled down a pretty good, if unspectacular 2.4. The real test will be whether it goes up or down from there in week two. 'Person of Interest' matched its most recent rating of 2.0, and seems to have stabilized again.

'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' returned to a 2.2, up slightly from its last new outing. 'The Goldbergs' earned a 1.7, also up a bit from its last new episode. 'Trophy Wife' wasn't so lucky, dropping back down to a 1.1, and continuing its march toward cancellation. 'Killer Women' premiered to an incredibly lackluster 0.9, down four tenths from what the quickly axed 'Lucky 7' did in the same slot.

A two-hour episode of 'The Biggest Loser' fell three tenths to a 1.7. Lead-out 'Chicago Fire' shed two tenths, earning a 2.0. All in all, not a great night for the Peacock. Finally, FOX's comedy block had a decidedly mixed night. 'Dads' bumped up one tenth to a 1.5, while 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' dipped a tenth to a 1.5. 'New Girl' took a big hit, dropping to a new season low of 1.6. However, 'The Mindy Project' rose a tenth to a 1.3, its first positive movement in months.
