‘Big Bang Theory’ Actress to Romance Sweets on ‘Bones’

Watch out Raj (Kunal Nayyar) -- it looks like your love Emily (Laura Spencer) is heading to D.C. to get a little lovin’ from Sweets.

Per TVLine, Spencer is joining FOX’s ‘Bones’ as a potential long-term love interest for John Francis Daley’s Sweets. Uh oh, is there trouble in paradise for Raj and Emily?

Previously, TVLine spoke with ‘Big Bang’ exec-producer Steve Molaro about the comedic couple’s future and it sounds like trouble is ahead. As Molaro said, Raj and Emily will encounter a “pretty big bump,” but will it be permanent aka will Spencer leave the comedy for the FOX drama?

Molaro assures that Spencer is “fantastic” and she’ll absolutely “be back next season… I’m sure it will be one of those things where we can work it out ,scheduling-wise, [with ‘Bones’] and it’ll all be OK.” Molaro also added, “We are aware [of her ‘Bones’ role], and they are aware that we are using her, too.”

Stephen Nathan, ‘Bones’ showrunner, is also fond of Spencer, as he said she’s “a great addition to [their] rotating interns.” Nathan even added, jokingly, “While we don’t want to fight them [‘Big Bang’] for her, they should remember we are very good at murder over here.”

Tonight, Spencer makes her fourth appearance on the CBS comedy, and she’ll also make her ‘Bones’ debut in this season’s penultimate episode on May 12.

‘Big Bang’ airs Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS, while ‘Bones’ airs Mondays at 8/7c on FOX.
