George decided to become a stand-up Comedian in 1973 but didn’t hit the big stage with his regular routine until 1979 when he turned 18. He has said that he had quit and started again and quit over 10 times between 1979 and 1984. He was quoted as saying: “Because I had quit at everything, and it was the way I was. I had dreams like everybody else, and at one point, something just kicked in, Survival I think”? George had a small bit part as “Tornado” in the Action/Kung-Fu Movie titled “Fist of Fear, Touch of Death” in 1980. He next appeared as “Eddie Martinez” in the Action/Comedy “Ski Patrol” in 1990. He would appear in Movies and small parts in TV episodes over the next few years. His really big break came when actress “Sandra Bullock” sent out one of her talent scouts to check out all the clubs/bars and halls for a Latino talent because there were no Hispanic shows on TV at the time. As it was over the past 55 years there has been only 3 other Latinos’ to star in their own TV comedy series. Those include “I Love Lucy” with “Desi Arnez”, “Chico and the Man” starring “Freddie Prinze” and finally “a.k.a. Pablo” starring comedian “Paul Rodriguez”.
