Mount Airy has been in Tayloe Emery's family for ten generations and some of its rooms haven't been touched since the home was built more than 250 years ago. With their two young boys and their dogs in tow, Tayloe and his wife Catherine are tackling a full restoration of the Virginia estate. With layers of generations buried in its walls, this couple will work hard to preserve its beauty and its history. (Source: DIY Network)
The grounds of Mount Airy are massive, but Catherine and Tayloe don't really have a designated place to entertain outside. They want to create an outdoor cooking and dining area complete with a fire pit. Before they start digging in the yard, they must pass inspection from an archeological team. If any significant historic elements are found in the soil, the entire project will be shut down.
