Death In Paradise is a crime drama series originally starring Ben Miller. DI Charlie Hulme who is loved and respected by all, including his team on the paradise island of Saint-Marie. After Charlie is discovered to have been murdered in a locked panic room during a party at a local mansion, everyone is upset. Commissioner Selwyn Patterson reveals that as Charlie was a British policeman, a British cop must lead the investigation into his murder. Englishman DI Richard Poole is seen as the perfect man to try and solve the murder case.
In Series 3, DI Poole is replaced by DI Humphrey Goodman, played by Kris Marshall.

A student backpacker called Sian Evans is found dead in the showers of the hostel where she has been staying. With a gun in her hand and her body slumped against the only door, it looks like that she committed suicide. Her wash bag and toiletries have been laid out but her towel missing meaning everything might not be as it seems.

Show Died With Inspector PooleRating: 0 likes, 1 dislikes What made this show was the character of Inspector Poole. His brilliance coupled with his peculiar personality was what made it not only interesting but enjoyable and amusing. The new inspector is like watching Harpo Marx trying to be a detective. Of course the writers know they now have a dud so they immediately dumped Inspector Humphrey's wife so they can create a love story and sexual situations between Humphrey and Camille. Unfortunately, nothing can equal the sheer brilliance and comedy of Inspector Poole as superbly played by Ben Miller. I'll never forgive him for jumping ship.
