John Simm is concerned about doing an American accent on Intruders

John Simm has admitted that he was worried about having to pull off an American accent on BBC America series, Intruders.

He stars on the show with Mira Sorvino, playing former LA cop Jack, and has admitted that he was so scared the first time he had to put on an American accent that he began to sweat.

"The most nerves I had were at the read-through. I was terrified. I've never been nervous for a read-through, well, maybe when I was 22, for Heartbeat or Cracker," he said.

"It was the first time I'd ever done an American accent in front of anyone; not even my wife had heard it. I'd just sort of done it myself, and so the first time I opened my mouth I was being recorded, sat next to Mira Sorvino. I was sweating, it was terrifying."

The series is to be shown in the United Kingdom on BBC TWO starting on Monday October 27th at 9pm with two back to back episodes.
