Diedrich Bader

On the day before Christmas, in 1966, the former mayor of Atlantic City, Edward L. Bader, acquired a new grandson when Diedrich Bader was born in Alexandria, Virginia. William and Gretta Bader enjoyed the birth of their new child, and lived in the Northern Virginia area with him for two years. In 1968, the family moved to Paris, France. The William and Gretta Bader family eventually included the sons Diedrich, Christopher, John, and daughter Kathy. Diedrich’s love of acting began early, when four-year old Diedrich would entertain crowds with his imitation of Chaplin’s “Little Tramp” character. When the time was right, Diedrich returned to the United States to attend high school, and eventually college (North Carolina School of the Arts). Diedrich was spotted on spring break by a casting director, and he landed a starring role in a pilot. The pilot wasn’t picked up to series, but Diedrich had decided the time was right to pursue an acting career. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue this career. Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Diedrich guest starred on numerous shows before landing a starring role in 1993 on the short-lived Adam West FOX series Danger Theatre. In the same year, Diedrich appeared in his first feature film The Beverly Hillbillies. Two years later, in 1995 Diedrich finally landed a starring role on television for a series that would last a few years. He appeared as Oswald Lee Harvey on the nine-season ABC comedy The Drew Carey Show. Immediately after the end of that show’s run, Diedrich immediately found another starring role on John Goodman’s Center of the Universe. Unfortunately, that series did not last long on television. Diedrich’s career continues . . .
