James has three children: daughters Amy and Chloe, and a son, Cooper.

Brooks is one of the few directors who have won best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay for the same film. He did so with the 1984 movie "Terms of Endearment".

Was married twice: once to Marianne Catherine Morrissey and is currently married to Holly Beth Holmberg.
