Episode Info
A Depression era federal agency known as the Works Progress Administration, is where records are unearthed about the great-grandmother of actor Morgan Freeman. Also, the story of how Quakers helped free the ancestors of theologian Peter Gomes, around the 1700s. Plus, host Henry Louis Gates Jr. discovers that he's related to a medieval Irish warlord; and Gomes learns that his paternal ancestry descends from a Portuguese Jew who, in the early 1500s, fled his homeland to escape the Inquisition.
