Are You There, Chelsea is based on the book and comedian/talk show host Chelsea Handler. This show follows the adventures of Chelsea (Laura Prepon), a twenty-something woman who doesn't let anything stand in her way of succeeding in her life. With her friends, who know that it is Chelsea's way or else, Mark (Jo Koy) and Shoniqua (Angel Laketa Moore) are there to add support for their friend. However, Todd (Mark Povinelli) doesn't take Chelsea's attitude and keeps her mannerisms to a minimum.

The big surprise comes when Sloane's husband Chris phones Chelsea from the airport to say his Army tour in Afghanistan is done and he is on his way home to surprise Sloane - Chelsea has four hours to clean Sloane up or have Chris find her in a very unflattering state.

  The downward spiral of NBCRating: 2 likes, 1 dislikesAfter watching the third (and last for me) episode, I was struck by the tremendous difference in quality of screen writing from the glory days of NBC with Seinfeld and the dreck that is this show. Seinfeld was clever and witty, while this show just makes me cringe. In the most recent episode, the central character Chelsea is annoyed with her roommate because she is a virgin. The roommate is preventing the superslut from having sex in every room of their apartment, so Chelsea is determined to get her laid. The minor plot is about breast milk and a feud between two other characters. Seriously! While Seinfeld would tackle risque subject matter at times, they did it with style and not crudity.
