Reading the newspaper, cooking, golf, stressing out, searching for male-bonding, venting about his horrible childhood
Jake, Daria and Quinn's father, isn't too involved in his wife or daughters' lives and is typically seen hiding behind the newspaper. He often makes parenting attempts, but when his opinion on is issue doesn't match Helen's, he loses out.
Jake works as a consultant and is very stressed out by his work. His job usually gets in the way of family bonding time, similar to Helen's, but due to his normal low-involvement with the family, his presense isn't missed.
Jake's constant need for male-bonding was in part caused by Jake's father, "Mad Dog Morgendorffer" who traumatized Jake by sending him to military school.
