Married ... with Children is a show about the life of the Bundys. They always seem to have bad luck in every episode. They include Al, a lowly women's shoe salesman, Peggy, the wife who sits and watches TV all day, Kelly, an empty-headed but attractive blonde, and Bud, a smart, short, and weird little boy. They also have a dog named Buck, who sits and makes perverted jokes. The sitcom represents a distinct departure from the saccharine-sweet television families viewers have known since the days of Father Knows Best. With unflinching honesty, Married ... With Children paints a painfully funny picture of a not-so-typical middle class American family.

A lot of viewers didn't get to catch this show's first seasons, because the FOX network was brand new and didn't reach a lot of homes yet. Later, FOX branched out and after the Terry Ricolta case that got news media and newspaper plugs, the show really hit off an audience. They became FOX's first #1 prime time show and sitcom series and the first to have a long last on the network for 10 years and 11 seasons. They also had over 250 episodes, only defeated by The Simpsons for that milestone on FOX
