Need to Know

Need To Know is a PBS news magazine produced by WNET.org that puts top current events and cultural stories in context, offering a deeper understanding of today's issues through taped field segments and in-studio guests. It follows a web-based production model that allows viewers to watch the show online and via podcast, complemented by daily multimedia content released on its website. Need To Know incorporates a cross-media menu of broadcast investigative journalism, issues and discussion blogs, social media and partnerships with VII Photo and The Climate Desk.

Need To Know is anchored by Alison Stewart, the Peabody Award-winning broadcast journalist who is a veteran of NPR and MSNBC, with periodic contributions from Jon Meacham, executive editor at Random House and the former editor of Newsweek.
