The Night Watch is written by Sarah Waters and adapted for television by Paula Milne. The series follows the lives of four young Londoners throughout different stages of the Second World War. The show stars Anna Maxwell Martin, Claire Foy, Harry Treadaway and Jodie Whittaker.

Kay is on the streets, haunted by a personal loss. Helen and Viv are running a marriage bureau, trying to help different people rebuild their lives by finding love. Their own relationships are much harder to solve though. Duncan finds his fragile existence being threatened after a face from his past shows up.
