The View

The View is a daytime television talk show on ABC created by Barbara Walters, Bill Geddie, and Jessica Guff and featuring a panel of women as co-hosts. As of September 4, 2007 the panel includes Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck; they are joined by Walters, the show's co-executive producer, an average of three days a week. The show premiered on August 11, 1997. The concept of The View is to showcase women with a range of perspectives, as they speak with each other as well as with their guests.

In 2010, CBS launched rival show The Talk. In the UK Loose Women has been on the air on ITV1 since 1999. In Australia The Circle has aired on Ten since 2010.
