Cinemax cancels Banshee

Cinemax has decided to cancel Banshee with the upcoming eight episode fourth season to be its last.

The decision comes as the network has been pursuing more pulpy shows including Steven Soderbergh's The Knick and exorcism drama Outcast.

The final season of Banshee starring Antony Starr will be shown next year.

@Magoose, yeah he recently gave an interview and said the decision was nothing to do with the studio but theirs alone. The 4 season decision is purely for artistic reasons.

I have just read that the creator has decided that this is the last season, not the network, as they want to go out on a high and not become stale.

That is such a shame ! One of the best shows on tv in a long time..
Every year I was hoping they would add more episodes to the next season..
And now this.. the last season we will only get 8 new episodes ??!!
WTF !?
