HBO to show Sharp Objects

HBO is to broadcast Gillian Flynn's Sharp Objects which will star Amy Adams.

The series will feature eight episodes with the potential for a second season.

Amy Adams will play reporter Camille Preaker who has just had a brief stay at a psychiatric hospital and who now needs to deal with a troubling assignment as she returns to her small hometown to cover the murders of a couple of preteen girls.
