The big four networks engaged in an ultra rare four-way tie for the 18-49 demo crown, but ABC managed to draw the most total viewers.
'How I Met Your Mother' rose three tenths to a 3.0, topping the night in individual demos. Lead-out '2 Broke Girls' jumped up four tenths to a 2.7. 'Mike & Molly' continued the upward trajectory, rising two tenths to a 2.4. 'Mom' completed the comedy climb by rising three tenths to a 2.2.
Unfortunately, the good news ended there for CBS. 'Intelligence' made its debut in its regular timeslot, and proceeded to all but jump off a cliff. Episode two of the Josh Holloway fronted action series plunged over a full point to a 1.2, easily the largest first to second episode drop of the season.
'The Bachelor' fell a worrying four tenths to a 2.3, a series low for the long-running reality program. 'Castle' rose two tenths to a 1.9, recovering a little from last week's season low. 'Almost Human' rose for the second straight week, climbing up to a 2.0. If it rises again next week, I'm ready to predict a second season renewal. 'Sleepy Hollow' matched its last new episode's 2.2.
The 'American Ninja Warrior: USA Vs. Japan' special earned an okay enough, if not too impressive 1.9 rating for NBC. Proving that thought to be runaway hit 'The Blacklist' may in fact be lead-in dependent, the James Spader fronted drama tumbled down seven tenths to a 2.5. Ouch. Finally, 'Hart of Dixie' rose slightly for The CW, earning a 0.5. 'Beauty and the Beast' garnered its usual 0.3.
