sabnzbd+ : watch the TV you've licensed without commercial i -- posted on May 18, 2012
Hulu is a farce: watch episodes for free but do not
block ads?
Sorry that is a DEFECTIVE use of the word 'free'.
I license episodes through my TV provider. I do not bother with DVR anymore because the encoding 'quality' is abysmal and the storage space a pittance. I acquire episodes for my media center via usenet (astraweb ninety ish USD per annum) with
sabnzbdplus. Others also use sickbeard. I don't do wifi either. Store episodes on
NAS4free [ZFS] Z6 pool (dozens of terrabytes of storage). XBMC for playback via hdmi. yay
I will pay to watch media without commercials. Some will not pay to watch but will sacrifice their privacy on the alter of third party advertisers and watch. But I certainly won't watch interstitial commercials.. DVRs allow fast forward viewing through commercials. usenet media centers allow
not-watching commercials per se.
It is
immoral to acquire episodes from usenet that one does not also license through a tv provider (sat/cable/fiber/etc).
