Lizzie McGuire is an Emmy-nominated show about an insecure middle school student trying to manuever through all the trials of teendom. There to help her are her best friends Miranda, Zaina, Tara and Gordo and her animated alter-ego who tells the viewers what she's really thinking.
The show was the breakthough that Disney Channel needed to put them on the map. The show ended because of Disney Channel's 65 episode limit but after the success The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Disney tried to bring it back. Unfortunately, the show's famous star Hilary Duff would not return. A decision that has caused a lot of controversary. The show still lives on in reruns.
