Once Upon a Time Gains Amy Acker

Joss Whedon favorite Amy Acker will join the cast of Once Upon a Time. This new addition shows just how much stars want to work on this show. Acker has been a featured actress on Angel, DollHouse, and Alias.

As the character Fred on Angel, Acker exuded a girl next door vibe. A surprise turn for her character in the fifth season was a chance for her to show her acting chops. We were presented with a much darker and regal style for the character. Acker was able to show her depth which has been imbued into her roles since. She will be playing Beatrice in an upcoming Whedon film that is an homage to Much Ado About Nothing.

Acker will be a welcome addition to the growing cast of Once Upon a Time. She will be appearing as a character in Stroybrooke who has her own fairytale past. She will be a love interest and feature in one of the known character's back story. Another Whedon favorite, Emma Caulfield, has been cast for an upcoming episode of Once. She will be playing the wicked witch from Henzel & Gretal in the ninth episode.

The list of guest stars for Once Upon a Time continues to grow with new announcements being made every few weeks. The show just lost  James Dornan in the first main character death in Storybrooke. In the finale episode the sheriff was killed by the mayor/evil queen after remembering his fairytale past. Turns out, as fans predicted, that he was the huntsman sent to kill Snow White. There are some rumors that he may return, but he doesn’t know how it would happen. It could be a flashback to the fairytale life or some other writers trick.

Once Upon a Time returns to ABC January 8th.

She's awesome but this is probably the death knell for the show as she and Summer Glau are clearly TV Show curses!

He's got a twin (The Huntsman) in the fairytale world so it's not hard to see how they could bring the caharacter back in the real world albeit a slightly different one.
