It's like they tried to lay X-Men or Heroes over a combo Frankenstein, Dracula and whatever else. Horrid show. Maybe if I hadn't just watched 2 seasons of HBO's Carnivale after it was released on Amazon Prime, I wouldn't have been spoiled by something of quality. They managed to combine characters with different powers and make an engaging show, Penny Dreadful doesn't even try :-( Watch Carnivale, you'll see ;-)
