Whack-a-mole - Recap

<-- Previous EpisodeNext Episode -->
Alicia meets with her employees, who all agree that they need more money. She asks what they should do about it. Robyn asks about their Christmas party and suggests they have a real roll out now that they have office space. Alicia takes a call from Zayeed who needs help with a problem. The FBI is in his home asking about a friend who was applying as a job to be a CIA consultant. He needs her to be there to make sure he doesn't accidentally get his friend in trouble.

Diane also meets with her employees but they have the opposite problem, they have too much work and need to start hiring. David Lee wants to focus on Florrick-Agos but Will says they should do both rather than focus on one goal. Will leaves the meeting to talk to Elizabeth who has a list of applicants but he isn't happy with them. He wants to see one applicant that Diane thinks isn't right for them.

Alicia and Robyn sit in on the FBI questioning. They ask a question about the day that a bomb went off. Alicia realizes that the interview isn't what it was set up to be. The agent questioning Zayeed hands her a search warrant for his computers. Outside, Alicia asks Zayeed if there is anything on the computer that could get him in trouble. He says that his book is on there about Jihad but it could be misinterpreted. Alicia leaves to go and stop the warrant.

Will sits in on a court hearing for the lawyer he wants to hire, Damian Boyle. He is impressed by what he sees and later finds Boyle in a bar. Will introduces himself and offers him a job. Boyle says that he has friends that he will support no matter what. Will says that's not a problem since they have money. Boyle promises to think about it.

Alicia tries to convince a judge to drop the search warrant against Zayeed but the FBI has photographic evidence that shows him near the location that the bomb was planted. She confronts Zayeed with the new evidence but he claims to have nothing to do with the bomb. Robyn calls her over to show her a website where people believe Zayeed is the bomber and that they can prove it was him. They think it's crazy that the FBI is using information from people with conspiracy theories that are trying to blame Zayeed. Cary suggests they have the website remove the thread and therefore remove the FBI's source of intelligence.

Peter's mother Jackie sits at a restaurant table with her friends when she sees Eli enter with Rachel. Jackie moves over to talk to them and learns that Rachel is the forerunner for the supreme court seat. In private, Jackie tells Eli not to let Rachel have the seat. He tells her to suck it up though.

At LG, Will tells the team that he has hired Boyle. The team isn't happy about this though. Will suggests they sanction him if they don't like his decision. He goes to his office to talk with Diane in private. Will doesn't think they have time to wait and hired Boyle by himself. She points out Boyle flirting with a secretary. David Lee tells Diane that 2/3rds of the partners wants to drop Boyle and asks Diane what she thinks.

Alicia is in court with Judge Kluger to fight for an injunction against the website that says Zayeed is the bomber. The website owners have not shown up though. Kluger says it's good to see Alicia but asks her to bring a more serious case next time.

LG takes a vote on whether they want to fight for a client that Florrick-Agos stole. Boyle isn't paying attention though and the team need to fill him in. He doesn't like that a large client was stolen so he gathers some people to come with him. They head to Alicia's office and Boyle pretends they are a moving company that is switching out the furniture.

Alicia successfully has the thread taken down but another has immediately popped up. They return back to the office to find all of the chairs and desks are gone.

Eli enters Peter's office but finds Jackie in his seat. She doesn't want Rachel to be appointed because she slept with her husband. Peter doesn't know this and Eli apologizes for not knowing. Eli says there's no political reason to dump this candidate and he can't bring himself to make Peter do it.

Alicia is back in court to have an injunction against the website. Will shows up in the defense of the website. The CEO is there and removes the thread. Cary asks that the website take an active role in removing the threads when they pop up. Alicia is distracted when she sees Boyle wearing the pin that he took from her desk. She confronts him after the hearing and Cary asks about their furniture. Will has no idea what he's talking about.

David Lee and the other partners have changed their mind about Boyle, much to Diane's dismay. Diane calls Kalinda into her office to ask about Boyle. She asks Kalinda her thoughts of Boyle and asks her to get information on him now.

Alicia doesn't understand why LG would represent the website. Will thinks they did so to make it look like Alicia was against internet freedom. This would help them win back a large contract. Zayeed shows up and tells Alicia that he was fired because of what people said online. She thinks they now have a case for damages.

In court, Alicia sues the website for defamation. Zayeed lost his job and a book deal because of this. The website can't be sued for what the users post but Alicia has a client who says a site owner was posting. Grant says what he posted was opinion not fact. He is a moderator on the site and he is rewarded with points online. Will states that he's not an employee because he isn't paid money. The points are given by a computer algorithm so he's not supervised and therefore not an employee.

Jackie tells Rachel that she should have turned the appointment down. Rachel tells her to call her office to chat but Jackie isn't interested. She says the affair was a long time but refuses to bow out. Jackie threatens to tell her husband, even though he's in the hospital with cancer. She states that Rachel was never important to her husband.

Kalinda talks to Boyle and asks him questions that every new employee is asked. She convinces him to talk about his previous arrests rather than have her investigate them. After their meeting, Kalinda tells Diane what she has found. Diane recognizes one of Boyle's arrests as something that happened to Howard. She asks Kalinda to dig further.

Alicia wins the court case by arguing that the only way to see if posters are actually employees are to have their names. Kluger rules that Will's client must release the list of names to Alicia by the end of the day.

Robyn uses the list of names from the website that defamed Zayeed. One of the names doesn't really exist and she isn't sure what to make of it. Back in court, Alicia asks to call up the name that doesn't seem to belong to anyone. Kluger asks why he's not there and Cary states that it is a social robot. It was meant to drive users to the website and Alicia states that the website built it so they must be responsible for its actions.

Jackie visits Roger in the hospital just as Rachel arrives to see her husband. Rachel asks that they talk in private for a moment.

Kalinda asks Boyle more questions. She catches him in a lie and asks why he won't just come clean. She says that sooner or later she will find out what she needs to know.

Eli confronts Jackie after he receives a call from Rachel about stepping down from the position. He knows it was Jackie's meddling that did this. She pleads innocent in having anything to do with it though.

Will and Diane visit Alicia's office and find that it reminds them of when they first started. They sit down with Alicia and Cary to discuss terms. Alicia wants to skip right to the final amount that they are authorized to offer. Alicia is called away by a phone call from Kluger. He just wanted to ask her out for some coffee.
