A Bit of A Do
was a comedy series based on the books of David Nobbs (specifically A Bit Of A Do
and Another Do
). The series focuses on two families, the lower/working class Simcocks and the middle-class Rodenhursts, and also on their friends. The action in each episode is set against a social function (a "do"; for example, the first episode is set against the background of a wedding, and other episodes focus on funerals, holiday parties, store opening parties, dinners, etc.).
The series was nominated for three awards in 1990, and won two of them. David Jason
