In the first season, a family that moves to a house Los Angeles, unaware that it is haunted. Father Ben Harmon (Dylan McDermott) is trying to deal with his wife's rejection after he has an affair with a student, and soon falls under the house's sway. Meanwhile, wife Vivien (Connie Britton) must not only try to forgive her husband but deal with the aftereffects of a miscarriage. Daughter Violet (Taissa Farmiga) is confronted with hostile girls at her new school and befriends her father's disturbed teenage patient, Tate Langdon (Evan Peters). And lurking nearby is neighbor Constance (Jessica Lange), a former actress who both hates and is oddly protective of her special-needs daughter Adelaide (Jamie Brewer), who can sense the house's evil.

In the second season, strange happenings occur at Briarcliff Manor, run by the Catholic church as a sanitarium. Sister Jude (Jessica Lange) administers the facility with a strict hand while concealing her lusts. Dr. Arthur Arden (James Cromwell) conducts strange experiments on the patients, including accused serial killer Kit Walker (Evan Peters), the infamous Bloody Face, who may or may not be innocent.

American Horror Story: Coven tells the secret history of witches and witchcraft in America. Over three hundred years have passed since the turbulent days of Salem and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe, who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona, the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way.

American Horror Story: Freak Show is set in the town of Jupiter, FL in 1952. One of the last remaining troupes of freaks arrive at the same time as a dark entity that threatens them and the townspeople alike. (Source: FX)

Each season is the same: starts off with promise, then all the characters start getting killed, sometimes for dramatic effect just to be brought back to life, and then the season ends and you realize there was no real plot, no story being told -- just killings :-( Read more

5x10: She Gets Revenge recap: Liz checks in a variety of guests through the day. Once they shoot each other, Liz and Iris come in and Liz finds the mutual death beautiful. She explains that they killed themselves so their children wouldn't find them at home, and breaks into tears. Iris tells Liz that they were happy, and Liz says that she feels like she'll be happy again. She can't convince herself that she can live without Tristan, and figures that soon the Countess will slit her throat. Liza picks up a gun and contemplates it, and Iris reminds her that she'll be trapped in the hotel for all eternity if she dies. Reconsidering, Liz lowers the gun and says that her only unfinished business is her son. She always wanted to tell him that she was sorry for leaving her, and that will give Iris enough time to get ready to go. Iris tells Liz that she doesn't have to die alone, and now she knows that Donovan doesn't love her and never will. Liz agrees that they should kill themselves together... read more.
