Apple's Way

George Apple moves his family from the fast-paced Los Angeles to the small town of Appleton, Iowa, founded by his ancestors. The new surroundings take longer for the children to get used to than the adults, but soon all make the adjustment and learn to appreciate the new home.

2x1: The Tornado (aka The Storm) recap: A falling beam pins down and seriously injures George Apple and traps his three eldest children in a cellar where a storm rips into the town of Appleton. Meanwhile, Barbara and Aldon have their own frightening troubles when the car in which they are riding in search of young Steven overturns as Barbara swerves to avoid a falling tree. Ronny Cox returns as the successful Los Angeles architect George Apple, who takes his family back to live in his hometown of Appleton, Iowa. Lee McCain plays his wife Barbara, Malcolm Atterbury is his father Aldon, Vincent Van Patten is their older son Paul, Patti Cohoon is the elder daughter Cathy, Eric Olson is the younger son Sloven, and this season Kristie McNichol plays the younger daughter Patricia.
