Filming of the fifth and final series of Ripper Street gets under way

BAFTA-nominated crime drama Ripper Street has started filming the fifth and final series in Dublin ahead of its exclusive release on Amazon Prime Video later this year; with all four previous series available now for unlimited streaming and download for Amazon Prime members.

The hugely popular drama has consistently proved a hit with both Prime members and critics.  In the forthcoming series writer Richard Warlow shows how, as the Victorian age comes to a close, the police officers of H Division attempt to maintain law and order on the streets of Whitechapel.

Joseph Mawle rejoins the series as the feared Detective Inspector Jedediah Shine, intent on a mission of revenge after last being seen in the series two finale when Inspector Reid plotted with Drake to take Shine’s life.

Amazon Prime members in the UK can enjoy all series of Ripper Street, available for unlimited streaming or download from Amazon Prime Video, including the most recent fourth series which saw David Threlfall, Matthew Lewis and David Warner appear alongside series regulars Macfadyen, Flynn, MyAnna Buring and Adam Rothenberg. The fourth series reached its devastating, game-changing climax in the final episode which launched exclusively for Prime members in the UK last month.

Amazon stepped in to save Ripper Street in early 2014, following outcry from fans when the show was cancelled after two series, with the original Tiger Aspect production team being commissioned by Amazon to create a brand new series, which launched exclusively for Prime members in the UK in November 2014. At the same time, series one and two were made available for unlimited streaming for Prime members. When Ripper Street series three launched on Prime Video, it was streamed more than any other TV show on the service and was the most popular British drama amongst customers. Series four launched exclusively for Prime Members in the UK in January 2016.
