Secrets of Our Living Planet is a documentary series presented by Chris Packham. He begins a quest to highlight some of the most strange ecosystems on the planet. He attempts to detail the intricate and often unexpected connections between different species that thrive in symbiosis.

Chris is in the Brazilian Pantanal where he learns more about how the area's oversized species survive because of the apple snail. He also learns how crabs benefit the ecosystem of the Sunderbans swamp in Bangladesh and how the coral reefs of the Maldives thrive due to the sponge.
