As temperatures begin to warm with the turn to spring, the competition in the kitchen heats up as eight of the country’s most-talented bakers compete on Food Network’s new series Spring Baking Championship. Bobby Deen hosts this sweet competition, in which contestants attempt to rise to the occasion with their springtime treats and win a sweet spot in the hearts of judges Duff Goldman, Nancy Fuller and Lorraine Pascale. Only one winner will take home the grand prize of $50,000 and the title of Spring Baking Champion.
From creating Mother’s Day brunches to serving up Memorial Day family picnics, the competitors must prove their baking abilities each step of the way. In each of the six episodes, the bakers are tested in a pre-heat round, in which one baker is granted a special advantage in the main heat. In the epic finale, the three remaining bakers first take on a wedding dessert bar challenge and for their final main heat, it's all about creating a wedding cake that truly deserves to be the centerpiece of the big day. The baker who can impress the judges with the most spectacular wedding cake will become the Spring Baking Champion and take home $50,000!
