Food Network fans have seen Hunter grow up before their eyes on Triple D, Triple G and Guy’s Big Bite. Now, as Hunter graduates from high school, his dad is surprising him with one of the best gifts imaginable, an experience of a lifetime: a trip to visit 13 different cities across Europe. The adventure is sure to open up a whole new world of cuisine for Hunter, who’ll be taking up hospitality studies as he starts college at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

The journey will take the father-and-son duo through England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain and Switzerland, and viewers can follow along in five half-hour episodes. The trip kicks off in Greece, where Guy and Hunter learn the secrets behind making the perfect gyro in Athens. Then they’ll get a lesson on how to fire things up old-school style at a local barbecue rotisserie restaurant. Later, in the Cretan countryside, they visit a generations-old farm to learn how to get the freshest dairy, beginning with the first step — milking sheep!

The travels continue as the two move on to Italy, where they reunite with relatives in Sesto Calende. They also get a blast from the past in Chantilly, France, where they visit the house where Guy stayed as an exchange student. Along the way, Hunter and Guy make the perfect cup of cappuccino in Rome, commandeer a gondola in Venice and witness the making of true Parmigiano-Reggiano in Parma. They also enjoy authentic Swiss fondue, twist pretzels in Germany, and learn the surprising and intricate traditions behind true French croissants and English fish ’n ’ chips. The trip winds down in Spain, where Guy’s wife, Lori, and younger son, Ryder, meet them to share a special Spanish paella dinner.
