Eichhorst helps Kelly disguise herself as human, and explains that she will hear the Master's voice in her head no matter where she goes. He applies her makeup and says that she'll soon be doing it herself, and tells her to control her contractions. Kelly manages to take the makeup sponge and Eichhorst takes out contact lenses for her. Satisfied, he says that she is the mother that Zach cries for in the night.

At Vasiliy's loft, Eph tells Vasiliy that he doesn't plan to tell Nora of his plan to kill Eldritch. The exterminator notices that Eph is pouring himself a drink for breakfast, and Eph figures that his best chance is to shoot Eldritch from a distance. He asks Vasiliy to get him a rifle, and Vasiliy gives him the name of a contact, Jimmy Wu, out of a boat repair shop.

At Stoneheart, Eldritch wakes up next to a sleeping Coco, and wakes her up with a kiss. She says that she feels safe with him there, for the first time in a while, and she suggests that she cancel his meeting with Cardinal McNamara so they can stay in. Eldritch declines and she figures that McNamara has found the Lumen. Coco says that he has a meeting with Eichhorst later, and admits that she can't stand him. Eldritch says that he needs him even if he doesn't like him, and Coco wonders what things Eichhorst does for her. She assures Eldritch that she can handle the knowledge, warning that she can help him more if she isn't kept in the dark. Eldritch says that he's trying to protect her and save the city, and there are forces that are will try to stop him. Coco hates the fact that Eichhorst despises Eldritch, and asks for his trust. He tells her to give him some time and they kiss.

Nora wakes up when Eph comes in to get some things. He says that he's taking Zach on some errands, and she mentions the news reports about Everett falling off the same train that Eph was riding to Washington. Eph denies ever seeing him, and he says that he was wrong and Nora was right about going to Washington.

Vasiliy and Abraham drive to get the Lumen, and come to one of Feraldo's police blockades. Abraham warns that it's only a holding measure, and wonders why Dutch isn't with them. Vasiliy explains that Dutch is helping Nikki finding a place in one of the buildings they cleared. Realizing there's more involved, Abraham tells Vasiliy that he has to focus on their game, and Vasiliy says that he has it under control.

As Eph and Zach walk down the street, Eph asks how his son is doing. Zach says that he had a dream about Kelly where she was at home and said she was waiting there for him all along. Eph repeats that the real Kelly is dead, and the creature at the church is trying to turn Zach. A boy run out of the shop holding a pack and Eph ignores him and continues on to the boat repair shop. There's a smell of gunpowder, and a woman comes out with a gun. Once she's sure that they're human, she says that they're closed. Eph figures that she's hurt and Zach says that his father is a doctor.

The woman, Grace, takes Eph to her father Jimmy. He's badly wounded from a gunshot wound, and Grace says that a guy came into deal. They thought he could be trusted, but he shot Jimmy. Eph warns that he's not a surgeon, and Grace gets a surgical kit from their supplies. When she wonders if she can save him, Eph says that he's going to try.

McNamara arrives at Eldritch's penthouse and explains that he agreed to protect the seller's anonymity. Coco listens as McNamara warns that the seller wants $500,000 in gold. The cardinal warns that there are other interested parties, and Eldritch realizes that Abraham is one of them. Angry, Eldritch demands to know what he has to pay to keep Abraham out. Eichhorst arrives and McNamara quickly leaves. The German wonders what Eldritch is trying to buy, and Eldritch says that it's none of his business. When Eichhorst disagrees, Eldritch abruptly tells Coco to give them some privacy. Once she leaves, Eldritch warns that they won't be able to meet their timetable if he fails. Eichhorst assures him that they're still on the same team, and gives him one week to repair the damage to the factory. As Eichhorst goes, Eldritch says that he hasn't seen Bolivar recently. The German says that the Master has chosen Bolivar as his new vessel, and Eldritch takes great delight in reminding Eichhorst that he is more deserving. Eichhorst leaves without a word.

Gus and Angel drive to get supplies for the restaurant, and Gus asks if Angel believes that God is allowing things to happen. Angel figures that the city deserves it and refuses to abandon the Guptas. They arrive at the shop and discover that it's been raided.

Abraham and Vasiliy arrive at St. Benedict's Cathedral and meet with McNamara. McNamara warns that the Lumen is exceedingly valuable and they don't appear to have the resources to bid. Abraham says that his clients do and agrees that he can pay $750,000 in gold within 24 hours. McNamara says that he'll be in touch, and Abraham wonders if Eldritch is also bidding. He warns that Eldritch is a dangerous man, and McNamara tells them to check back the next afternoon. Outside, Vasiliy wonders how they're going to raise the money. Abraham says that Eldritch will take the Lumen from McNamara, so they're going to steal it first.

Eph operates on Jimmy with Zach's assistance, and advises Grace not to watch. She says that she's fine, and Eph says that Zach doesn't have to be there either. Zach says that he's fine and Eph begins operating.

Kelly drives through the checkpoint, posing as human, and reluctantly removes her sunglasses. The officer prepares to scan her with UV light, but strigoi pour out of another van and Kelly drives through the checkpoint. She enters a factory and pops the trunk, and lets out two Feelers hiding inside.

Eph staples up the wound and Grace gets some pain meds. Jimmy tells Grace to pay the man, and Eph explains that he came there to buy something. She tells him to take whatever he wants. Eph and Zach leave with the rifle, and Eph claims that it's for protection. He says that he couldn’t have done the operation without Zach, and Zach admits that it was kind of cool. Eph talks about the first time he dissected a frog, and Zach suggests that he operate on Kelly. He reminds his father that Abraham was wrong about sunlight destroying the Master, and could be wrong about Kelly.

That night, Kelly and the Feelers follow Zach's scent to the Wu's building. They then continue on.

Gus and Angel talk to the Guptas and suggests that they leave the town. Naren is reluctant to give up everything that they've build, and Gus tells him that he can rebuild. As for papers, Gus says that they'll find a way for them to get past the quarantine. Vhini begs her husband to consider it, and he agrees. Gus goes to find a place for them to cross over. As he goes, Aanya thanks him for his help and asks him to come with them. Gus is surprised that she wants him to come with them, and she kisses him. As Gus kisses her back, Quinlan calls from the alley, saying that he and Gus need to talk.

Outside, Quinlan points out that Gus is the only one who walked out of Stoneheart. Gus shoots him, but Quinlan ignores the wound and slams Gus up against the wall as Aanya watches from inside. The half-breed explains that he trained Vaun but he underestimated the Master. Gus says that he doesn't work for the Ancients anymore, and Quinlan says that he doesn't either. He's using them to get what he wants: the Master. Gus wishes him luck and asks for his gun back, but Quinlan warns that the Master won't forget what Gus did to him. He looks at Aanya and says that Gus can save her... by giving her up until they slay the Master. Gus wonders why him, and Quinlan says that he stopped answering that question centuries ago.

As McNamara prepares to go out, Eichhorst enters his chamber and says that he's there for the Lumen. The cardinal wonders why the book would interest Eichhorst, and says that the current price is $1,000,000. Eichhorst offers him his life, and McNamara orders him and calls for his servant Nicholas. Eichhorst says that Nicholas is indisposed, and knocks the phone out of McNamara's hand when he tries to call the police.

Vasiliy and Abraham break into the cathedral through the side door.

McNamara prays to God, and Eichhorst mocks him, inviting God to strike him dead. When nothing happens, he tells McNamara that God has better things to do. McNamara insists that he's selling the book for someone else and swore not to tell. Eichhorst prepares to sting him.

Vasiliy and Abraham finds Nicholas' corpse on the floor. In McNamara's chamber, Eichhorst says that soon the Master will control him and learn where the Lumen is. Vasiliy comes in and opens fire, and Eichhorst ducks the bullets. Abraham comes at the German from the other direction, scratching his neck. When Vasiliy tosses a silver grenade, Eichhorst dives out the window and escapes. Abraham goes to McNamara and tells him that there is a greater power watching over the city. If McNamara tells him where the book is, he will release him. McNamara mutters the name Rudyard Funescu, and Abraham recognizes it as the boy in the convent in Austria. He then decapitates McNamara.

Later, Eldritch is watching the news and sees a report of McNamara's murder. Coco comes in and wonders if it's because of the book. He refuses to tell her what it's about, and snaps at her when she persists. Coco grabs her clothing and says that she gave Eldritch every chance.

At the loft, Nora unbolts the door for Eph and Zach. Zach goes to his room, and Eph talks to Nora privately about how Zach won't accept the truth about Kelly. Nora points out that Eph has been avoiding the truth--and Zach--all along. As they talk, Kelly lurks at the window. Meanwhile, Nora says that Eph is hiding something.

Kelly goes to the lower window and watches Zach as he plays a video game.

Eph tells Nora that he killed Everett, and he managed to get four people killed. Nora realizes that he was involved with Leigh, and walks away.

Kelly tries the side door but is unable to open it. She taps at the window and Zach looks up to see his mother. Kelly says that she's missed him and asks him to let her in. He says that he can't, and Kelly says that she was sick but is getting better.

Nora thanks Eph for telling him the truth, and they hear Zach talking to Kelly. He calls to Zach and sees Kelly, and Zach unbolts the door. Eph yanks him away as Kelly comes in, and Nora opens fire. Kelly ducks into the shadows, and Eph draws a silver sword as Kelly calls from the shadows, reminding him that he never wanted Zach. She says that Zach should choose who he wants to be with, as two of the Feelers crawl through the door.

One of the Feelers tries to sting Nora's feet as she comes down the stairs. Another one comes at Eph, who cuts its stinger with his sword and then impales it. Eph and Nora continue searching for Kelly, who drops down and knocks them both down. Zach yells at her to get away from his father, but Kelly prepares to sting Eph. Nora recovers and throws a winch into Kelly's head, tearing off her makeup. Eph grabs Nora's gun and shoots at her, but the remaining Feeler throws himself in the way and Kelly runs out the door and disappears into the night.
