The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Show Tidbits
Fallon was originally supposed to take over when Jay Leno's contract expired in September 2014. But Leno suggested that Fallon take over earlier in February to take advantage of the ratings for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

This is the first time that the theme song for "The Tonight Show" has lyrics ("hey hey hey hey").

The show's studio, NBC Studio 6B, is the same studio that The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962) was originally broadcast from. This is the first time "The Tonight Show" was regularly broadcast in New York City since Carson moved the show to Burbank in 1972.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon's intro was directed by Spike Lee.

The Roots added two horn players from The Dap-Kings to play with them on the show. According to bandleader Ahmir-Khalib Thompson, "You can't be The Tonight Show without a horn section".
