House of Lies


House Of Lies is based on the book "House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time by Martin Kihn" and is a new comedy that follows management consultant, Marty (Don Cheadle) who doesn't like to lose and will do anything by using people and manipulating things to go his way. Jeannie Van Der Hooven (Kristen Bell), a co-worker of Marty's, is beside him with a razor-sharp personality to match Marty's. Together they and Marty's corporate team members, Monica (Dawn Oliveri) Jeremiah (Glynn Turman) and Roscoe (Donis Leonard Jr.) take what they can a run with it. Created by Matthew Carnahan (Dirt) and Martin Kihn,House Of Lies is a half-hour comedy that stretches the boundaries between work and personal relationships in a cut-throat consultant type of way.

1x9: Ouroboros recap: The episode begins with Roscoe wanting to know about Ouroboros. Marty tells him that probably it’s a monkey. But Jeremiah tells him that it is a snake; the kind that eats its own tail. Next we see that Skip is introducing a corporate giant to the team; McDale. McDale cuts into the introductory speech and tells the team that he is going to bring in another consultancy and everyone would be interviewed; with no exceptions made. The team will be evaluated on their past performance. And obviously, this doesn’t go down very well with the guys. The team walks in; and too Marty’s disappointment, Monica and James are in the new panel. Greg introduces them as the best team in the business... read more.

1x8: Veritas recap: The scene opens at the annual recruiting event, where the cream of the Harvard wine and dine. Just then Skip arrives in his chopper; at the venue. “He knows how to make an entrance!” Just then Clyde asks Marty what he is doing at the event as he never believed in it, and thus he wasn’t expecting him to be there for it. Marty tells Clyde that Skip needed him and hence he was attending the event. Skip walks in and introduces Marty to James. James knows Marty as he is his huge fan. James clearly admires Marty, but in a way where he believes he can expunge him, which builds a certain tension, but there’s also a connection from being the only two black guys in the room. Clyde fools around a little with Dough and Dough tells him that he doesn’t appreciate that as he could be mentoring any one present at the event; and thus he should be setting a good example... read more.

1x7: Bareback Town recap: The scene opens with Marty getting ready to leave on a tour. When April asks where this week, he thinks it will be Tampa. April tells him about Celeste, whose ass will make him see starts. What if Marty wants April’s ass? She will not be there in Tampa. Does she think Marty has to have sex while he is on the road? Marty insists he is not unable to keep his dick in his pants for a couple of days. However, hardly can he resist diving into the bed, when April throws off the bed sheet covering her lower body. Later at the airport lobby, Clyde is telling a story about his dog, which he claims died when he was in eighth grade. He slept to its warmth, and the sound of its breath, but when he woke up, it had died. When Jeanie and Doug are more than touched, he lets on it’s a fake story! 1x6: Our Descent Into Los Angeles recap: Marty and his team are getting back from their Butterfields project. While the in plane, it is already Thursday, and before long it touches down at LA. Jeanie is getting her stuff out from the baggage cabin, when her ass is what attracts Marty’s eyeballs. But he goes on to say a word about home. That is where management consultants go to do their laundry. When Jeanie takes her seat, she knows Marty was checking her butt. Doug says, No, he wasn’t. Clyde says just the opposite. So what does Marty think of Jeanie’s butt? Not bad, he says, leaving a smile on her face. At the airport, Clyde is not game with Doug’s weekend plan, and Jeanie has to hurry of somewhere. 1x5: Utah recap: The scene opens and Marty and Smiles are at the Gaulweather chief’s chamber. Smiles appears to be the new boss. While Marty is complaining about Utah, he is clearly not worried about Metro Capital. Turns out that Smiles has all his money on Marty, especially as far as his fight with Greg is concerned. However, he is good as long as he doesn’t mess up. This is going to be a whole new ball game. Later at the airport, Marty briefs Jeanie their next client is a hospitality company – Butterfields, and they are profitable. So why are they going to serve them – Marty replies with a look suggesting the answer is obvious. In the lobby, Clyde is complaining about Doug’s bathroom habits, and that he hasn’t washed his hands.
