The Closer

The Closer

TNT's new hit crime drama that was a success within weeks starring Kyra Sedgwick as Deputy Police Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson.

The LAPD has created a new division---Priority Homicide---to deal with high-profile murders and incidents. However, the assistant chief gives the job to a former FBI interrogator (and former lover), Brenda Leigh Johnson, raising ire in Capt. Taylor, the man who thought he would be getting the job...and the second highest rank in the department.

Brenda proves to be a contradiction in terms. She is socially absentminded at times; she has an addiction to junk food; her quirks can be annoying; and she can be a spitfire when the time calls for it. But, to the surprise of her team, she is also very adept, sharp, observant, and is a "closer"---someone who can get the confessions and the convictions.

In Season Two we find Brenda making strides in both her personal and professional life: she has won the confidence and respect of her team (including Lt. Flynn), and she and Fritz have taken "the next step" in their strange yet extremely interesting romance.

It is shown that seemingly, Goldman has gotten the names of the people who murdered Baylor. Striving to convince Moses to testify, Goldman lists the names, just as bait, Moses is apparently disturbed on hearing the names. Despite the distress he is going through, Moses refuses to relent; but says that if Goldman can expedite his release, he will say anything against Brenda. His freedom is paramount to him.
