| "Cure" is a reverse spell for immortality (it takes away the immortality) created by one of the most powerful witches of all time named Qetsiyah. Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries was completely based on it as Stefan and Damon along with all the Elena's loved ones were trying to get it for Elena to make her human again.(she became vampire at the end of the season 3). The original vampire Rebekah was also after the cure as she herself wanted to become mortal/human. Katherine wanted the cure to buy her freedom from Klaus. Klaus wanted to find the cure in order to destroy it so that no one can use it against him. But the creation of cure was only for one sole purpose i.e to make Silas mortal again, However Katherine ingested it during the fight with Elena. She shoved it into Katherine's mouth in order to defend herself. In the very last episode of the season 4 (graduation) Elena stated "Have a nice human life Katherine". |
| Few facts about The Original Vampires 1. They are the most powerful vampires in the history of vampires as they are 1000 years old and are the first of their kind. 2. An Original Vampire can compel any other non-Original vampire. 3. They can be killed only by white oak stake, however they can be neutralized by white oak ash daggers (enchanted silver daggers dipped in the ashes of white oak tree.) but only as long as the dagger remains in their heart. 4. The white oak ash dagger can only be used by humans only. (as the dagger will claim the life of the other non-original vampire who will use it on them.) 5. Most importantly, if any Original dies the entire bloodline of that original dies along with it. In season 3X18 when Matt killed Finn (one of the Originals) Sage and Troy mysteriously died within an hour; Stefan, Caroline and Elena realized once an Original dies, as does every vampire descended from their bloodline." |
