GSN was launched on December 1, 1994 and was originally known as The Game Show Network. The channel is available to view on cable and satellite across the United States and is jointly owned by Liberty Media and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The channels shows a variety of different classic game shows as well as some reality shows. The channel has also made some original game shows of its own.
