'Girl Meets World' Sets a Premiere Date and Unveils New Extended Trailer

News that there was a 'Boy Meets World' spin-off in the works broke exactly a year-and-a-half ago today, leaving fans in a flurry of equal excitement and anticipation. First came posters. Then came special teasers. And now the Disney Channel has finally bestowed 'Girl Meets World' with an official launch date!

Oh, and surprise, surprise — it will air on Fridays. (TGIF for the win!)

The follow-up to the '90s ABC comedy will bow Friday, June 27 at 9:45/8:45c, following the world premiere of the network’s latest original movie 'Zapped,' which stars recording artist and 'Shake It Up' alum, Zendaya.

However, it won't remain in that unique time slot for long. After taking a week off, the series will then debut in its permanent time frame at 8:30/7:30c on Friday, July 11, with cast members hosting the evening.

But the excitement doesn't end there. The network has also released an extended trailer, which features Cory Matthews (played by Ben Savage) and wife Topanga (Danielle Fishel) trying to cope with the fact that their not-so-little girl Riley (Rowan Blanchard) is becoming a young woman. Viewers will also get their first look at Cory as a middle school teacher. It suits him nicely, we gotta say.
