Thanksgiving Day Marathons: What to Watch While You're Giving Thanks

It’s that time of the year to indulge in Thanksgiving festivities, eat all sorts of yummy goodies, hang with family and, of course, watch TV. While most of you will be tuning in to football, here is a list of some marathons airing during the Thanksgiving holiday (Thursday, Nov. 28). Now, that’s something to be thankful for!

1. ‘Friends’
Starts: 10 a.m. EST on TBS
If you’re in the mood to spend your “Thanksgiving with Friends,” then be sure to tune in to TBS. Not only will you enjoy every Thanksgiving episode with Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Rachel and Ross, but you’ll also get to watch Ross and Rachel’s breakup (which isn’t very holiday friendly), in addition to Phoebe's reunion with her ex-singing partner.

2. ‘Castle’
Starts: 10 a.m. EST on TNT
If you’re looking to solve crimes on the giving holiday, then be sure to watch Castle and Beckett during TNT’s marathon of ABC’s hit drama ‘Castle.’

3. ‘Modern Family’
Starts: 9:30 a.m. EST on USA
Nothing says Thanksgiving better than laughing with family, and what better way to do that than by watching a Viewers’ Choice Marathon of ABC’s hit comedy ‘Modern Family’ on USA?

4. ‘The Godfather’
Starts: 11:30 a.m. EST on AMC
Are you looking for a great movie marathon? Then, you might want to check out AMC’s ‘The Godfather’ movie marathon. That’s right, ‘The Godfather,’ ‘The Godfather: Part 2,’ and then another showing of ‘The Godfather’ will be on all day.

5. James Bond
Starts: 8 a.m. EST on Syfy
Bond, James Bond. If you’re in the mood for some sophisticated spying, Syfy is offering up a James Bond movie marathon featuring Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.

6. ‘Harry Potter’
Starts: 1 p.m. EST on ABC Family
You can’t go wrong spending your Thanksgiving by watching ‘Harry Potter.’ Thanks to ABC Family, you can enjoy ‘Prisoner of Azkaban,’ ‘The Goblet of Fire’ and ‘The Half-Blood Prince.’

7. ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’
Starts: 8 a.m. EST on BBC America
Are you looking to go back in time? Then, check out this oldie but goodie on BBC America. The network is airing an all-day marathon of ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation.’

8. ‘The Pioneer Woman’
Starts: 9:30 a.m. EST on Food Network
Thanksgiving goes hand in hand with food and cooking, so you should definitely tune in to the Food Network’s marathon of ‘The Pioneer Woman’ aka Ree Drummond’s down on the farm cooking skills.

9. ‘Without a Trace’
Starts: 2 p.m. EST on ION
Are you looking for a little Anthony LaPaglia in your life? Then, you’re in luck this Thanksgiving Day, because ION is hosting a ‘Without a Trace’ marathon.

10. ‘Cops’
Starts: 9 a.m. EST on Spike TV
If you’re wanting to experience some high-speed chasing, then Spike TV has exactly what you’re looking for with a marathon of ‘Cops’!

What will you be watching this Thanksgiving?

Wow, someone actually recommended that crap? Amazon has the highly superior Uk Being Human and Misfits and NZ Outrageous Fortune and UK Shameless (far superior to the US).You can probably find Bron/Broen and the Danish The Killing,Akta Manniskor(Real_Humans)is amazing if it can be tracked down. Australian Wilfred and New Zealands The Almighty Johnsons are awaiting someones pleasure. This is the digital age why recommend the tired old yearly tv crap when the vast world awaits?
