Alexandria deals with the fallout from the town meeting, as Rick and Morgan get reacquainted with each other since they last met. It's not long before they discover a looming threat that needs to be dealt with as soon as possible, but won't come without risks.
The safety of Alexandria is compromised by something other than walkers when it's invaded by a marauding band of survivors known as the Wolves. As they waste no time in butchering the people, Carol and Morgan lead a fight back, but come into conflict over their methods.
The groups tries to keep the half of the herd that broke off from reaching Alexandria. As Rick splits off, Michonne and Glenn try to get the others back to Alexandria, but are hounded by walkers and faced with the possibility that some won't make it.
Morgan recounts how he was transformed from an unstable murderer to a man of peace.
Still recovering from the Wolves attack, Alexandria finds itself now surrounded by a horde of walkers. As everyone struggles to cope with their future, Maggie attempts to venture out in an effort to find Glenn.
On their way back to Alexandria, Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham get caught in an attack. Daryl winds up being separated from Sasha and Abraham and is captured by a trio of people running from the people who attacked him.
Glenn finds Enid and tries to take them both back to Alexandria. Meanwhile, those behind the walls begin thinking of ways to get out, as things begin to boil to the surface.
With part of the wall down, walkers begin flooding into Alexandria. Everyone takes shelter in the homes, leading to several confrontations.
As Rick's escape plan takes an unfortunate turn, the Wolf tries to get himself and Denise outside Alexandria. Meanwhile, Glenn and Enid plan to rescue Maggie, as the rest of the residents are left trapped behind closed doors.
Rick and Daryl go out on a supply run that gets compromised by a troublesome stranger they encounter.
Back at Alexandria, Michonne follows Spencer into the woods where Carl and Enid happen upon what he's been looking for.
The group is exposed to a more hopeful perspective of the world when Jesus takes them to his settlement so that they can begin trading for what they need. However, shortly after arriving, they learn that much of what the Hilltop Colony has already belongs to another, dangerous group.
