Emmerdale airs on the ITV network in the United Kingdom. The series orginally aired in the afternoons but became an early evening show in the early 1980s. It was orginally called Emmerdale Farm but was renamed just Emmerdale in 1989. The central family on the show since the beginning has been the Sugdens.

Cain is planning to bring Maxine down and enlists the help of Ross and Aaron. Then Cain is forced to work on his own. He heads to her house and strikes at Maxine, this results in her being bound and gagged and put in the boot of his car. Cain arrives with his cargo at the container site and shows Maxine her new home. Moments later he is caught off guard when Charity and Debbie arrive at the scene.
Meanwhile, Ruby tells Ali and Amelia she is leaving to go to Leeds and does not think she will return.
At the salon Kerry has Chrissie as a customer, as Katie arrives about moving her horses back to Home Farm. Chrissie agrees she knows full well she is putting Robert and Katie in close quarters, interested what could happen. Whilst alone with Kerry, Chrissie recounts the background of her magazine story revealing who it was based on.

Kerry hatches a plan to get Ali and Ruby back together. As Kerry, Dan and Amelia wait nervously to see if Kerry’s plan works. Ruby pours her heart out to Ali giving her hope.
Exhausted after patrolling the farm all night, Cain and Aaron decide to pay Maxine a visit. They want to tell her she’s picked the wrong family to mess with. Meanwhile, at Butler’s Moira finds a hooded figure in the house!
Katie tries to get Andy to endorse her plans to move the stables back to Home Farm but Robert’s annoyed when Lawrence asks for Andy’s opinion over his. Katie is excited that Lawrence agrees to her idea.
