Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a new single-camera ensemble comedy about what happens when a talented, but carefree, detective and his diverse group of colleagues get a new captain with a lot to prove.

Detective Jake Peralta is gifted enough that he's never had to work too hard or follow the rules too closely. Perhaps because he has the best arrest record among his colleagues, he's been enabled – if not indulged – throughout his entire career. That is, until the precinct gets a new commanding officer, Captain Ray Holt.

Together, they interrogate suspects, arrest perps and solve murders. But, ultimately, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a workplace comedy that's not really about the job. It's about the men and women behind the badge – singing karaoke, grabbing a beer, and dabbling in each other's personal lives– all while protecting the fine people of Brooklyn.

Grew on me over timeRating: 2 likes, 0 dislikes

This show really had to grow on me. I started watching for Andre Braugher as I am a huge fan of his. I can't say I'm a huge fan of Andy Samberg as I found him more annoying than funny in the beginning. I almost stopped watching and he was the main reason. Over time, I found him less annoying. I guess I was able to develop a balance between his OTT brand of humor and the other characters on the show. Braugher is excellent as Captain Holt. Every single one of his emotions look the same. This is a good comedy that might not be to everyone's taste to start, and may never grow on some. However, it is definitely worth giving a chance. I'm glad it was given a second season and I'm hoping to enjoy it even more when it returns. Read more
