'American Horror Story: Coven': What to Expect From 'The Axeman Cometh'

Taissa Farmiga in American Horror Story: Coven

Death, torture, murderous killers on the loose — it must be time for another round of 'American Horror Story: Coven.' And while the third season's next episode, titled "The Axeman Cometh" is still a full day away from gracing our television screens, that doesn't mean we have to remain completely in the dark about the horrors that are to come. (Waiting is the absolute WORST, after all.)

Luckily, I was able to catch the episode before it airs Wednesday, and I have a bunch of 'AHS' spoilery teasers that I'm just dying to impart on all of you! But before you panic and give me the axe, don't worry — these little goodies won't spoil your fun, but simply give a little taste of what's to come from our favorite witches & co. However, if you prefer to be completely surprised, then I advise you read no further.

Like the promo (and title) promised, 'The Axeman Cometh' centers around — you guessed it — the infamous Axeman of New Orleans and lays the groundwork for his role in this brewing witch war. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Feast your eyes on all the diabolical details below!

-Ryan Murphy has already revealed that Fiona and the Axeman are going to have an intense romance. But what he's failed to mention is the fact that this killer already has a rich history with Miss Robichaux's Academy long before Fiona ever came into the picture. And it's left him with a pretty massive grudge against witches. (Suffice to say, he's not using that axe to chop wood.) But, you know, every relationship has its hurdles, right?

-Misty and Kyle both return for some much-deserved screen time, so expect some more Stevie Nicks and a whole lot of angry grunting.

-Cordelia struggles with her newfound gift of sight (or rather, insight) and quickly realizes, with help from Fiona, that it's as much of a curse as it is a blessing.

-Zoe continues to develop her new take-charge attitude and finally figures out what actually happened to Madison…well, at least to an extent. And let's just say this leads to a few rather surprising results.

-[SPOILER] develops a brand new power to read other people's thoughts, which should prove to be very handy in the future.

-Unfortunately, Kathy Bates' Madame Delphine LaLaurie is nowhere to be found this episode. Let's hope she'll reemerge sometime next week.

-We finally get to the bottom of Hank's endgame and discover why exactly he killed that red-headed girl a few weeks back. I won't give away the details, but trust me when I say it's a twist you did not see coming.

-The Axeman is a huge jazz buff, so if you're not a fan of his rhythm and blues, be prepared to pay the price. (Don't say I didn't warn you!)

Anyone else super excited for this week's episode? Sound off on your thoughts and predictions below!
