Determined to protect his sister, Jeremy makes a decision that will change everything. In the harsh reality of the present situation, Elena longs for simpler times when her parents, Grayson and Miranda, and Aunt Jenna were still alive and her biggest concern was her relationship with Matt. Stefan and Damon leave Mystic Falls together on a mission, but soon split up when Elena needs one of them. Caroline and Tyler are forced to make a life-changing decision. Finally, Bonnie makes a secret deal that has heartbreaking consequences.

The opposite of TwilightRating: 9 likes, 0 dislikes This show has a lot of things that the Twilight saga doesn't. Reasonably good actors, a couple of storylines that actually requires you to think a little, a bit more dynamic characters, not everyone is depressed/depressing beyond what you bare to watch. 3x22: The Departed recap: The episode begins, and Elena wakes up in the morning and rocks out to Pink. She puts on her cheerleader outfit and goes downstairs to breakfast; Jenna and her mom are there. It's sophomore year. She wakes up in the hospital. Meanwhile, Meredith tells Jeremy that Elena is fine; she just has a slight concussion. Meanwhile, Jeremy calls the Salvatores on the road. They can't believe Jeremy took her to the hospital when all the originals are looking to kill her to stop Alaric. One of them has to go back; the other has to deal with Klaus's desiccated body. Meanwhile, Meredith returns to her office to find Alaric waiting for her. He takes her vials of vampire blood and dumps them out... read more.

3x21: Before Sunset recap: The episode begins with Bad Alaric contemplating his new vampire reality in his empty classroom at school. Meanwhile, Tyler calls Caroline to tell her he has to go help Klaus move. He's planning to fake the sire bond until Klaus leaves town. Someone streaks vamp fast through school, by Caroline. Rebekah is the only one there for the cleanup committee and, as she reminds Caroline, she didn't even get to go to the dance. Meanwhile, Caroline offers her sympathy about her mom and Rebekah says the same about Alaric. Rebekah heads to the gym and runs into Alaric. "You're supposed to be dead," she says. "I am," he says. He tries to stake her but Caroline comes to her aid and together they drive the stake into his stomach... read more.

3x20: Do Not Go Gentle recap: The episode begins, and Rebekah returns to the house and presents Klaus with the stake. He throws it on the fire and tells her to pack her bags, they're leaving town and taking Elena with them. Rebekah convinces him to stick around for the Decade dance tonight. She has big plans. Damon calls Alaric. He doesn't know if he turned over the stake, he woke up alone. He's going to leave town for a few days because he keeps blacking out so he's still a threat to everyone. He says he's taking Bonnie's herbs. Alaric gets off the phone and Rebekah joins him. It's bad Alaric, lying to Damon. She tells him Klaus burned the fake stake without a second thought... read more.

3x19: Heart of Darkness recap: The episode begins and Elena brings supplies to Alaric in the cellar. He thinks it’s better for him to remain confined, at least until his alter ego doesn’t give them the white oak stake, which his alter ego has hidden somewhere. He is also worried as to what Klaus would do if they don’t give him the stake. Elena says that it’s the only thing that will kill him so he would be desperate to get it in any way possible. She tells him that Stefan would watch over him for a while, in the meantime she and Damon would go to Denver to pick up Jeremy. It turns out that it was Stephan’s idea, as he wants her to sort out the unresolved feelings she possibly has for Damon. Later, Stephan and Elena part ways without saying much... read more.

3x18: The Murder of One recap: The episode begins, and Elena drops by Alaric's with muffins. Damon won't let her in. After she walks away, we see what he was hiding from her -- Alaric at a table saw, cutting down the white oak Wickery Bridge sign to make stakes. Stefan suggests sharper points. "We finally have our own stakes to kill an original, I'm not going to miss because you can't whittle," Stefan tells Damon. When it's all underway, Alaric announces he's going to call Sheriff Forbes and turn himself in. Stefan explains they have Originals to kill first. Damon gives Ric his ring back. "You're going vampire hunting, Ric -- wear it," Damon says. Out in the woods, Elena breaks the news to Caroline that Alaric killed her dad.
